This drawing came out of an effort to pace teaching the anatomy of the human face to drawing students. In a matter of moments I had sketched the woman that had been a subject of a dream the night before. I finished the tonal rendering during my hall duties during the school day. Needless to say, the students were interested to see the progress happen. On a trip to Cairo, I shared this image on a business card to our guide, who recognized the image to be the same as a sculpture in an Ancient Egyptian Temple about a 30 minute drive from the Cairo Antiquity Museum where we were gathered awaiting our bus. This validation of my dream was awesome. Private Collection |
